Educator Housing to Retain and Recruit Teachers
What Will the Bond Fund?
If approved by voters, the bond would fund the construction of district‑owned housing designated for eligible McCamey ISD educators.
Who Is the Housing For?
The housing would be available to educators employed by
McCamey ISD.
Why Housing?
The district’s goal is to assist in recruiting and retaining educators by increasing affordable housing options in our district.
Ballot Language:
McCamey Independent School District - Proposition A
THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.
The issuance of $12,000,000 of bonds for the construction, acquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion and equipment of housing for teachers (to include any necessary or related removal of existing facilities with respect to the foregoing), and the levy and imposition of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds and the costs of any credit agreements.

Texas State law requires the phrase “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE” to be on every school bond measure ballot, regardless of the overall effect on taxpayers.
